Biography
Ivanov Andrey Andreevich was born on November 29, 1904 in the village of Selishche [1] , now the Chudovsky District of the Novgorod Region . In the Red Army since 1926. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1928.

Before the war
He served in the Red Army in the rifle units of the Leningrad Military District: cadet, senior clerk, secretary of the political division, political instructor of the rifle company and regimental school. In 1932 he was transferred to the Air Force to the aviation brigade of the Leningrad Military District as a party political apparatus: head of the party cabinet of the aviation brigade, political instructor of the aerodrome team, political unit assistant to the air fleet, military squadron commissar, military bomber aviation regiment, military commander of the bomber aviation brigade. During the Great Patriotic War, he was deputy commander for political affairs of the 13th Air Army ( Leningrad Front ). Since November 1942, the deputy commander for political affairs of the 13th Air Army on the Leningrad Front. During the Great Patriotic War, as of 10/28/1942, he personally performed 35 sorties in the most threatened areas [2] “Flying Commissioner”. That's what everyone called him on the Leningrad Front.
