Bezrukova, Lyudmila Petrovna

Lyudmila Petrovna Bezrukov (nee Lyaushko ; April 24, 1945 , Luga , Leningrad Oblast ) - a Soviet rower-canoeist , played for the USSR national team in the late 1960s - early 1970s. World and European champion, four-time champion of the All-Union Championship, winner of the regattas of republican and international importance. At the competition represented the sports society " Spartak ", Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1970).

Biography

Born April 24, 1945 in Luga [1] .

She began to actively engage in rowing in early childhood, was trained under the guidance of the honored trainer Nina Smirnova [2] , was in the voluntary sports society " Spartak ". She achieved her first serious success in 1967, when she won the gold medal of the adult All-Union championship in the 4 × 500 m relay. A year later, she became a champion of the Soviet Union at a 500-meter distance in a four-seater kayak, and a year later she repeated this achievement national team, visited the European Championships in Moscow, from where she brought two gold medals at once, won in half a kilometer races among twos and fours.

In 1970, at the All-Union Championship, an athlete (already under the name of Bezrukov) won the relay race singles and, thanks to a series of successful performances, was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the World Championships in Copenhagen. At a distance of 500 meters in the standings of four-seater crews, she mined gold and became, therefore, a world champion, in the standings of two-seat crews, also fought for the victory, but ended up only second, giving way to the Olympic champions from Germany Rosvite Esser and Annemarie Zimmerman . For these achievements, at the end of the season, she was awarded the honorary title " Honored Master of Sports of the USSR ."

After completing her sports career, she graduated from the PF Lesgaft State Institute of Physical Culture and went on to coaching. In the period 1982–1990 she worked as a rowing and canoe rowing coach at the specialized youth school of the Olympic reserve of the Leningrad Spartak, then for twelve years she taught physical education at the Banking School-College and at the secondary school No. 302. Awarded the medal “ For Labor” valor " [3] .
