Jasper County is located in the United States , Indiana . Officially established in 1838 . As of 2010 , the population was 33,478. Got its name in honor of the American soldier William Jasper .

According to the 2000 census [1] , 30,043 residents of 10,686 households and 8,217 families live in the okrug. The population density is 21.00 people per km 2 . In the district there are 11,236 residential buildings, with a building density of about 8.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 97.97%, African - Americans - 0.35%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.18%, Asians - 0.19%, Hawaiians - 0.00%, representatives of other races - 0.63 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.68%. Hispanics made up 2.44% of the population, regardless of race .
Among the 36.40% of the total number of households , children under the age of 18 live, 65.40% of the households are married couples living together, 7.70% of the households are single women without a spouse, 23.10% of households households are not related to families , 19.90% of households consist of one person, 9.30% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone.
