Amatsu Mikaboshi

Mikaboshi was created by Michael Avon Oeming and Scott Collins in 2006 and first appeared in Thor: Blood Oath # 6. The prototype of the character was the deity of Japanese mythology Ama-tsu-Mikaboshi ( Jap. 天津 甕 星 ) . The character subsequently appeared in the Ares mini-series (# 1–5) in 2006, and later in # 117–120 (May – August 2008). He also played a key role in the storyline in 2010-2011.

Billions of years ago, the Shinto gods Izanagi and Izanami (one of the aspects of the Elder Goddess of the Earth, Gaia) went to a shapeless world (Earth), in which a dark pristine void prevailed, where the ancient force of nature known as Amatsu-Mikaboshi (天津 甕 星) existed and reigned alone. A divine couple began to inhabit the world with living beings, as well as younger Amatsu-kami, who were subsequently worshiped as gods by the inhabitants of Japan and who infuriated Mikaboshi. His attempts to overthrow the young Amatsu-kami pantheon were thwarted, but Mikaboshi had the strength to go down into the underworld to Yemi, where he hid for many centuries.

Three Warriors were convicted of the accidental killing of a giant who was actually a water beast. As punishment, they were sentenced to extract several complex artifacts from various pantheons and transfer them to the father of the deceased giant. Among them was the Grass Reaver sword ( Grasscutter , referring to the Kusanagi no tsurugi sword ) from the Japanese kingdom of the dead, which was guarded by Mikaboshi.

Ares: God of War

Taking advantage of the chaos that reigned after the fall of Asgard and the Norwegian pantheon, Mikaboshi planned to expand his influence by capturing Olympus and crushing the Olympic gods. Mikaboshi hoped that after the defeat of the Olympians, all the other pantheons would surrender themselves. To this end, Mikaboshi attacked Olympus and was very close to success. Ares, who still held a grudge against the Olympians, refused to become the God of War again to help them in the war against Mikaboshi. Desperate for his help and wanting to push Ares to action, Zeus decided to abduct Ares's son Alexander at Olympus, where he was placed under the guardianship of Achilles and his myrmidonians.

While Mikaboshi waged a war against Olympus, Hermes went to Earth to tell Ares that he needed to talk with Zeus, but Ares was blinded by fury at Zeus, who had abducted his son and did not listen to Hermes. Subsequently, Achilles himself comes to Ares and on his knees asks to go to Olympus, where Alexander is in the fortress of Achilles. But when they get into the fortress, they discover that it is completely destroyed, and Alexander disappeared.

While Achilles was absent, the forces of Mikaboshi managed to destroy the fortress of Achilles and imprison Alexander in his own shelter in the eastern lands. And already there, Mikaboshi began to slowly distort Alexander’s mind in an attempt to put him against his own father, showing the bloody history and crimes committed by the Greek gods. Mikaboshi hoped to make Alexander the new God of War, who could be used against the Greek gods and, more importantly, against Ares.

Upon learning that his son is in the hands of the enemies of Olympus, the enraged Ares reluctantly agrees to take part in the hostilities, but only to save his son. In a fierce battle unfolding between the forces of Mikaboshi and the Olympic gods, the latter triumph, and Amatsu-Mikaboshi himself dies at the hands of Alexander, who has become Phobos and is again imprisoned in the underworld.

Chaos War

• Form of God : Mikaboshi originally appeared in the form of one of Amatsu-kami, the pantheon of gods worshiped by the inhabitants of ancient Japan. Mikaboshi was the god of evil in this pantheon.
• Hypnosis : Amatsu is able to completely subjugate the will of people and even some gods, for example, this was the case with Phobos, the son of Ares, only with the help of Zeus’s energy could the boy get out of Mikaboshi’s power.
• Change of face : Mikaboshi was able to take on any appearance, often he took on the appearance of women.
• The form of darkness : He is able to control the darkness and transform his body, giving it any shape that he wants, he is able to lengthen his arms, take the form of huge multi-armed creatures, turn limbs into tentacles and much more, Mikaboshi is able to achieve almost any effect.
• Level of power : having accumulated strength, Mikaboshi could destroy Zeus himself in battle, piercing his flesh with claws from darkness.
• Flight : able to fly at high speeds, for this it goes into the shape of a snake eye surrounded by darkness and, like a comet, travels long distances.
• Fighter : mastered numerous types of hand-to-hand combat and mastered all types of cold eastern weapons, it was he who trained Phobos so much that he was able to defeat his father - Ares.

• King of Chaos : having absorbed the powers of the gods of the Skrull pantheon, and then dozens of other pantheons, he gained enough strength to become King of Chaos. Mikaboshi has always mastered the art of reincarnation, but what he reincarnated during the Chaos War is not comparable to the creatures inhabiting the planets, he achieved the strength of the Universe, and of course, his usual form, which did not exceed the strength of the Pantheon of Earth Gods, was just a grain of sand compared to the form of the King of Chaos. Through the kingdom of the dead, the King of Chaos managed to penetrate into our world, where he took the form of a giant creature, filled with darkness and possessing gigantic dimensions, in comparison with him the planets seemed to be balls, and in the end he could even become the size of the whole universe.
• Enslavement : A distinctive feature of the King of Chaos was that he enslaved the mind and body of all whom he defeated, and he began with the kingdom of Nightmare and was able to capture through the ability of the latter all the superheroes of the Earth. The kingdom of dreams and the kingdom of the dead fell first at his hands, then after Mikaboshi broke into the world of the living, he enslaved the pantheons of the Egyptian, Aztec, Celtic gods and the Kami pantheon in seconds.
• Endurance : Mikaboshi's endurance is comparable to the power of cosmic abstractions, even the Universe recognized that it was powerless against him, only the Almighty Hercules could fight with him on equal terms, while both were several tens of times larger than the planet Earth. It was not possible to defeat Mikaboshi, the Almighty Hercules pushed him into the portal leading to the continuum, which became the universe of the King of Chaos, where from now on everything is darkness and darkness. But only the power of the universe itself (a mighty warrior in the universe) or higher can defeat this Mikaboshi.
• Strength : Mikaboshi's physical strength in this state reaches billions of tons, he demonstrated that he can easily absorb and galvanize whole galaxies into himself.
• Transformation : he showed that he could transform his body at will, turning it into a human likeness, then into a cloud the size of a galaxy, while he emitted numerous "antennae" with which he pierced the victims through, with this weapon he could easily pierce the Most High Hercules.
• Aspiration : The main goal of the King of Chaos was to become everything in the universe, he wanted to absorb everything in himself on this scale in order to become everything again.
