Biography
Georgy Shevtsov was born on July 10, 1924 in Kiev, he graduated from high school there in 1941. In 1942-1944 he served in the Red Army. In 1945-1947, he headed the mine club number 13 in the Rostov region .
In 1947-1949 he studied at the theater studio at the Lesya Ukrainka Kiev Drama Theater , after which he was an actor in the theater until 1952.
In 1952-1954 - actor of the Rostov Drama Theater named after M. Gorky .
In 1954 he moved to Moscow and from 1954 to 1959 he played in the drama theater of the Central House of Culture of Railway Workers.
In 1959-1964 he was an actor of the A.S. Pushkin Moscow Theater . In 1964 he became an actor of the Moscow Art Theater , where he played more than 50 roles. After the division of the theater in 1987 joined the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater. M. Gorky .
He died on August 14, 1999 in Moscow, was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery (plot No. 20).
