Location
It is located on the right bank of the Vyatka River , opposite the Vasilkovsky Island, at the confluence of the Kokshaga River . Copses, water meadows, oak trees. Vyatka flows in two channels, under a steep bank - Staritsa.
History
It is mentioned in 1638 as a settlement of Vasilkovo. Peasants settled near it, and the Kotelnich Forerunner Monastery sends there “brothers and servants, and cubs for the monastery building”. Later, a monastery was built here, and the Vasilkov peasants are reckoned to it. Their situation was more difficult than that of the palace, so already in 1658 more than half of the residents fled to the neighboring palace villages of Kukarku , Lipovoe , distant Kholunitsa .
According to the Scribe Book of 1646, letters of V.P. Otyaev in the settlement include the Church of the Virgin of Kazan, 17 yards, including a priest, clerk and 4 empty ones.
According to the census book of 1710 S. D. Trakhaniotov in the settlement, the Church of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan and the court of the bishop for his clerks.
Attractions
The Kazan-Bogoroditskaya church, stone, was built in 1788 - 1794 according to the project of F.M. Roslyakov. Library founded in 1898 . Pier on Vyatka.
