Notes
- At this Grand Prix, Senna won his 21st career victory and the first of six this season. According to the results of the season, Ayrton became the world champion for the second time.
- Leading circles: Jean Alesi, 34 circles (1-34); Ayrton Senna , 38 laps (35-72)
- Donnelly could not start on the warm-up lap due to a gearbox problem. Because of this, in some sources it is indicated as not started (DNS).
- Philippe Allo was disqualified for servicing a car outside the boxes at a Friday training session.
