Biography
Orthodox. From hereditary nobles of the Poltava province . Landowner of the same province.
He graduated from the college of Pavel Galagan in Kiev (1877) and the law faculty of St. Petersburg University with the degree of candidate of rights (1883).
After graduation, he began serving as a candidate for judicial positions at the Civil Appeal Department of the Senate . Soon he was transferred to the Ministry of Justice and sent to study at the editorial commission established at the Ministry for drafting the Civil Code. He took part in the works of the aforementioned commission, first as a member, and later as a member of the commission until the completion of the work assigned to it.
Working for 22 years on drafting the Civil Code and related projects of the Guardian and patrimonial statutes, he consistently held positions in the Ministry of Justice: senior assistant to the head of the head, head of the head , senior head of the head of office, editor of the 1st class under the minister of justice . According to the Senate: from 1897 he was at the ober-prosecutor’s table over the set, first in the 4th, and then in the 2 nd department, and from 1904 - a friend of the ober-prosecutor in the Civil Appeal Department.
On January 1, 1906, the editorial commission for drafting the Civil Code was closed, he was appointed as a special assignment officer of class V under the Minister of Justice to participate in the preparatory work for the introduction of the draft Civil Code to the State Duma . On April 22, 1906, he was appointed chairman of the civil affairs department of the Kharkov Court of Justice, on June 6, 1909 he was transferred to the same position in the St. Petersburg Court of Justice, and on January 18, 1910 he was appointed senior chairman of the Kazan Court of Justice.
On December 20, 1910, he was appointed senator, with production to secret advisers , and was appointed to be present at the Civil Court of Appeals of the Senate. On January 27, 1911, he became a member of the Special Meeting established at the Ministry of Justice to discuss the draft Civil Code in order to submit this draft to the State Duma. In 1913 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice, leaving the rank of senator, not present in the departments.
He was a life member of the St. Petersburg Law Society and a founding member of the Ufa Law Society. He collaborated in the journals “ Civil and Criminal Law ” and “ Ministry of Justice ”, where many of his articles were printed.
After the February Revolution of June 15, 1917, according to the petition, he was dismissed from service due to illness. In early 1918, he left for Yalta to treat his sick wife. Consisted legal adviser at the local enterprise "Black Sea Dolphin". Shot by the Bolsheviks in 1920 in Bagreevka .
He was married to the daughter of State Counselor Nina Artemyevna Kizeritskaya (b. 1873). Their daughters: Zoe (born 1898), Mariamna (born 1900).
