Darius Andre Arya ( born February 24, 1971) is an American archaeologist of Iranian descent. Doctor of Philosophy , participant in many scientific television projects on history and archeology. Co-founder and executive director of the American Institute of Roman Culture in Rome.

Biography

Born in Buffalo ( New York ) in a family of immigrants from Iran. He grew up in Huntington , West Virginia . He studied and graduated from the Phillips Academy in Exeter ( New Hampshire ) in 1989 and the University of Pennsylvania ( Pennsylvania ) in 1993, also studied in Rome (Italy) under the ICCS program. Master's degrees (MA) and Doctor (PhD) (2002) ) received at the University of Texas at Austin ( Texas ). He wrote a dissertation in Italy, working on a grant.

He taught in the USA and Italy, participated in archaeological excavations. Specializes in the history of the Roman Empire. Appeared in 25 documentary television projects.

Family

He lives with his family in Rome.
