Vionville is located 270 km east of Paris and 17 km west of Metz .
History
- Entered the duchy of Bar , obeyed the lands of Horse .
- Heavy fighting took place here during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, and during the Second World War there was a theater of military operations of the Battle of Metz (1944).
