Description
Small spiders, males up to 9.57 mm long (females slightly larger - up to 10.98 mm). The main color is yellowish-brown. The species Ectatosticta davidi was first described in 1888 by the French Arachnologist Eugène Simon (1848–1924) under the original name Hypochilus davidi Simon, 1888 [2] . Valid status was confirmed in 2009 during a generic audit by American arachnologist Norman Platnik ( Norman I. Platnick ; p.1951; American Museum of Natural History , Manhattan , New York , USA ) and Peter Jager ( Peter Jäger ). The taxon Ectatosticta davidi together with the species Ectatosticta deltshevi Platnick & Jäger, 2009 is included in the genus Ectatosticta Simon, 1892. The specific name E. davidi is given by the name of French missionary and naturalist Armand David ( Armand David , 1826-1900) [3] [1] .
