Caponia karrooica (Latin) is a species of small spiders of the genus Caponia from the family Caponiidae . South Africa : South Africa [1] .

Description
The length of males is from 6.25 to 7.25 mm (females are larger - up to 9 mm). The cephalothora is shorter in length than the length of the thigh, tibia and paws of the first pair of legs. Scion pedipalp razvdov on top. The main color is orange. All 8 eyes are developed on the cephalothorax. Have only two pairs of trachea. Night hunters, in the daytime, hiding in arachnoid shelters. It is close to the species Caponia spiralifera Purcell, 1904 , but differs in the structure of the genitals and color of the abdomen (it is without a black pattern in the lower part). A species of Caponia karrooica was first described in 1904 by the South African Arachnologist William Frederick Purcell (1866-1919, South African Museum , Cape Town ), the founder of araneology in South Africa . The taxon Caponia karrooica is included in the genus Caponia Simon, 1887 (together with Caponia abyssinica , Caponia braunsi , Caponia chelifera , Caponia simoni , Caponia capensis , Caponia hastifera , Caponia natalensis (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1874) , Caponia secunda Pocock, 1900 , and others). The species name C. karrooica is given by the name of the arid Karro region in southern Africa [2] [1] [3] .
