The water tower is a hyperboloid structure of the city of Konotop, Sumy region of Ukraine . Located on the corner of Konotop Divisions Square and Vladimir Shukhov Street , it is one of Konotop’s “business cards” [1] .

One of the few surviving "towers of Shukhov." The same age [2] of the Shukhov water tower in Belaya Tserkov , which still serves today [3] .
Content
Description
The design is a steel monoaxial hyperboloid of 25 pairs of supporting corner rods, with a circular reinforced concrete base with a diameter of 16 m and a circular iron platform for the tank above, to which a spiral staircase leads [4] .
History
The tower was built by the project of V. G. Shukhov in 1929 , in connection with the construction of a local water supply system. The tower provided the population of the city with drinking water. Until 1941, a local anti-aircraft defense observation point was located on the tower. During World War II, the tower was damaged and ceased to function, although for some time it was used as a television [5] .
In 1980, the tank was removed from the tower. Today the tower is in critical condition and needs immediate restoration [3] .
March 26, 2012 Konotop City Council held a special meeting dedicated to the fate of the tower. And although there were no funds for the repair of the tower in the city budget at that time, it was decided to keep the tower [1] .
