Jef Valkenirs ( niderl. Jozef Maria Zacharias (Jef) Valkeniers , Shepdaal, Belgium , December 29, 1932) is a psycho-neurologist and a Belgian politician. Dr. Valkenirs studied medicine and neuropsychiatry at Catholic University in Leuven (Belgium), University of Witwatersrand ( South Africa ) and at St. Jans Hospital in Brugge (Belgium). Dr. Valkenirs was a Member of Parliament from (Belgium) 1974 to 2003. He was also a member of the Western European Union and the Council of Europe . He is still active in political life as an adviser in the municipality of Dilbeek and as a board member of the liberal party in Belgium ( Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats ).
