Biography
Kirill Shirokov was born on March 26, 1960 in Leningrad . In 1982 he graduated from the Leningrad State Polytechnic Institute (Faculty of Automated Control Systems). [2] In the fall of 1978, in his second year, Cyril joined as a keyboard player and singer in the music group “Flashes”, which had been formed at the Physics and Metallurgy Faculty of LPI two years earlier. Subsequently, he participated in the musical groups “Calendar”, [3] “To Be Continued”, “Ballerina”. [4] Since 1988, Kirill Shirokov has been a member of the Collected Works, which later took part in the recording of Maxim Leonidov 's solo album, who left the Secret group. In the 1990s, Kirill Shirokov worked as an arranger with such performers as Mikhail Boyarsky , Irina Ponarovskaya , Marina Kapuro , Viktor Reznikov (arranged the hit V. Reznikov's “Don't Stop Now” (“Domovoi”), which lasted 17 months in fifth place on the Billboard magazine world chart. This was the first international pop hit written in the USSR ). [5] From 1990 to 1992 he participated in the Russian-American project “SUS”. [6] Then Shirokov proved himself as a composer, having written several songs for the poetry of Valery Skripnikov in 1996 for Mikhail Boyarsky ’s album “The Tale of the Drunken Scorer”. This album was released in 1998 by Extraphone. [1] [7]
In 1998, Kirill Konstantinovich emigrated to Canada , where he continued his creative career as a producer. [1] Since 2000, Shirokov’s Kiron Music Productions in Toronto has been producing musicians from around the world. In 2009, Kirill Shirokov acted as an organist, arranger, programmer, backing vocalist and sound producer for Maxim Leonidov’s new album, “Wild little thing”. [5]
