Biography
Fayzdrakhman Sabirov was born on September 5, 1919 in the village of Nizhny Shuni (now the Vyatskopolian district of the Kirov region ). He graduated from high school and factory factory apprenticeship . In 1938 - 1940 he served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Demobilized, he lived and worked in Kazan . In June 1941, Sabirov was again drafted into the army. In 1942 he graduated from the Kamyshlovsk Infantry School, in 1944 - the courses "Shot". Since May 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In the battles he was wounded [1] .
By February 1945, Captain Fayzdrakhman Sabirov commanded the rifle battalion of the 771th rifle regiment of the 137th rifle division of the 42nd rifle corps of the 48th army of the 2nd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the battles in East Prussia . On January 30, 1945, the Sabirov’s battalion went deep into the enemy’s defenses and cut off an important highway, thus blocking the enemy’s retreat. For the next three days, waging fierce battles, the battalion inflicted heavy losses on the enemy. Once surrounded, Sabirov organized a circular defense , personally fired guns, destroying 2 enemy tanks. At critical moments of the battle, he provoked the fire of Soviet artillery on himself five times. The battalion managed to hold out until the approach of the main forces, despite the heavy losses it suffered. The enemy in those battles lost 4 tanks and more than 350 enemy soldiers and officers [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Captain Fayzdrakhman Sabirov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal " Under the number 7214 [1] .
After the war, Sabirov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1976, with the rank of colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived and worked in Moscow .
He died on March 23, 1990, was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, two orders of the Red Star , three orders of the Badge of Honor and a number of medals [1] .
