Biography
Educated at the Military Academy ( 1892 ) and the Higher Military School ( 1896 ).
In 1896 - 1897 he was a battalion commander.
In 1897-1900 he served in the General Staff , an officer for assignments under the king. In 1900-1901 he trained in France . In 1901-1903 , he was the chief of staff of the Moravian Division Region. In 1903-1904 he was adjutant to the chief of the General Staff. In 1904–1910 , he was the chief of staff of the Danube Division Region, in 1910–1911 he was the commander of an infantry regiment , and in 1911–1912 he was an adjutant to the chief inspector of the army.
During the Balkan wars he served in the headquarters of the 1st Army (1912), assistant chief of staff of the 1st Army ( 1913 ).
During the First World War, he held the posts of chief of operations and assistant chief of staff of the Montenegrin High Command, from June 16, 1916 - representative of the Serbian command in Montenegro and chief of defense. After the arrival of Serbian forces on the Thessaloniki Front in 1917, he was appointed assistant chief of staff of the Serbian High Command.
In 1918 - 1919 he was a member of the Serbian delegation at the Paris Peace Conference .
From October 10, 1919 - deputy chief of staff of the High Command, from March 16, 1920 - deputy chief of the General Staff, from March 16, 1921 - commander of the Sava Division Region, from July 20, 1921 - assistant and deputy commander of the 4th Army Region. From December 16, 1921 to November 4, 1922 and from July 30, 1924 - Chief of the General Staff. In 1922-1924 and from 1940 - Minister of War and Naval Affairs .
He opposed the alliance with Germany .
