Biography
Alexander Ryazantsev was born on July 16, 1904 in the village of Volkovo (now the Sloboda district of the Kirov region ). After graduating from six classes of the school, he served as a scribe in the Shepelevsky executive committee. From 1920 to 1925 he worked as a clerk in a fur factory, time-attendant, washer and fermenter of sheepskins in a fur-sheepskin factory. From August 1925 and before being drafted into the army, he was an instructor in educational program.
In October 1926, Ryazantsev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He served as the squad leader, assistant platoon commander and foreman of the 2nd territorial rifle regiment. In 1933, he graduated from the command and control courses of communications, in 1934 and 1937 - the artillery improvement courses for command personnel. Participated in battles on the Khalkhin Gol River . Since the beginning of World War II [1] .
By March 1945, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Ryazantsev commanded the 2nd Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 3rd Guards Tank Corps of the 19th Army of the 2nd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Poland . On March 5, 1945, the Ryazantsev’s brigade broke through the German defenses, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy, and was among the first to reach the Baltic Sea near the cities of Koszalin and Kolobrzeg . March 14, 1945 Ryazantsev died in the battle for the city of Gdynia. He was buried in the Military cemetery of Minsk [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, for the "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the guard, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Ryazantsev was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded two orders of Lenin , orders of the Red Banner and the Red Star [1] .
