International Career
Poku played for the Ivory Coast team , twice became the top scorer of the African Nations Cup , scoring 6 goals at the 1968 tournament in Ethiopia and 8 goals at the 1970 tournament in Sudan. At CAS 1970 Pook in a match with Ethiopia scored 5 goals, the match Cote d'Ivoire won with a score of 6: 1, and Pook received the nickname l'Homme d'Asmara (the man of Asmara). Poku ranked second among the top scorers for CAS with 14 goals after Samuel Eto'o from Cameroon .
