Dascha Yolaine Polanco is an American actress who is best known for her role as Dinara "Daya" Diaz in Netflix 's series " Orange is the Hit of the Season ."

Polanco was born in the Dominican Republic, but grew up in Brooklyn and Miami [1] . On television, she made her debut in the episode of the series “ Remember Everything, ” and at the end of 2012 she got a supporting role of Daynara “Daya” Diaz in the Netflix series “ Orange - The Hit of the Season ” [2] . Polanco was promoted to the main team in the third season, after two in periodic status [3] [4] . Polanco has two children, a daughter and a son. The younger version of the character Polanco in the fifth season, “ Orange is the hit of the season, ” is played by the daughter of the actress [5] .
