Women's World Hockey Championship 2014

Women's Field Hockey World Championship 2014 ( The 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup ; Women's Field Hockey World Cup 2014 ) - The 13th Women's Field Hockey World Championship . Held from May 31 to June 14, 2014 at the arenas of Kyocera Stadion and GreenFields Stadium in The Hague , Netherlands [1] at the same time (and in the same city) with the men's world hockey championship . The Netherlands hosted the women's field hockey championship for the third time after the 1986 and 1998 championships.

For the 7th time, the Netherlands became the champion, having won in the finals the Australian team with a score of 2: 0. [2]

Argentina took 3rd place, defeating the US national team with a score of 2: 1. [3]

Venue Selection

The venue for the championship was announced on November 11, 2010, during the Congress and Forum of the International Field Hockey Federation (FIH), held in Montreux ( Switzerland ), after the FIH chose between The Hague and London . [four]

Qualification

Each of the continental champions from five confederations and the national team of the host country (Netherlands) received an automatic ticket to the championship. Six national teams joined them, taking the highest places in the semi-finals of the World Field Hockey League (Women) 2012-14 . All teams are shown in the table with their rating as of the day the World Cup began. [5] [6]
