Biography
Born December 19, 1856. [one]
In 1872 he entered the Academy of Arts , where M.K. Klodt was one of his teachers at the Academy. He maintained relations with the Narodnaya Volya, in the case of which in the late 1870s he was expelled from St. Petersburg to Kargopol in the Olonets province .
He did not give up painting, in 1880, at the request of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich , he received permission to return to Petersburg and continue his studies. After graduating from the Academy in 1882, he received the title of non-class artist.
Since 1883, participated in traveling exhibitions - was an exhibitor of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions .
He died on January 12, 1917. [one]
Proceedings
Bazhin painted mainly landscapes (“Spring Evening”, “Winter Morning”, “Twilight”, “After the Rain”, “Gray Day”, “On the River”), although he also created paintings on everyday themes (“In Porter Abroad”) . He was also known as the author of landscapes-illustrations for “Dead Souls” by N. V. Gogol (“Plyushkin Garden”). In the Tretyakov Gallery - his painting "Spring Evening".
The works of N. N. Bazhin were devoted to articles in pre-revolutionary newspapers and magazines.
