Zelenetsky-Troitsky Monastery (or Martiriyeva Green Desert ) is a male monastery located in the Zelenets village of the Volkhovsky district of the Leningrad region , on the right bank of the River Rassoha .

The foundation year of the monastery is considered to be 1564 The monastery is considered the founder of the monastery Martirius (in the world of Mina), and among the builders mentioned Fyodor Syrkov , a representative of a rich merchant family, who is known for participating in the construction of a number of architectural ensembles in Moscow , Novgorod and Tikhvin .

Initially, the buildings of the monastery were chopped of wood and surrounded by a wooden defensive fence. In 1612 - 1613, the monastery was ransacked and burned by the Swedes , but was restored according to a single plan thanks to the Novgorod metropolitan Cornelius . Most of the surviving buildings of the monastery were built in the 1680s .

The monastery complex is a group of religious buildings, surrounded by residential and business buildings. The monastery is surrounded by a massive fence.

The founder of the monastery, the Monk Martyrius, and the Metropolitan of Cornelius are buried in the monastery. The monastery was the place of exile for church repentance.

In 1919, the monastery was closed, and resumed only in 1993 . Restoration and restoration work is underway in the monastery.
