Janno Prants ( Estonian Janno Prants ; December 19, 1973 , Voru , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian biathlete , a participant in the Winter Olympic Games, the World Cup and Biathlon Championships, and the winner of the World Summer Biathlon Championships . From June 2014 to April 2015, he was the head coach of the Estonian biathlon team .

Career
He began to engage in biathlon in 1986. He played for the Pohyakotkas club. Participant in the Olympic Games in Nagano , Salt Lake City and Turin . For a long time he was the leader of his team. During his career, Prants got into the "top ten" of the strongest three times at the stages of the Biathlon World Cup . The best result - 8th place (twice).
In 1999, the biathlete, along with his partners, became the silver medalist in the relay at the World Summer Biathlon Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk .
After the 2005/06 season and an unsuccessful performance in Turin , as well as taking into account financial problems in the national team, Janno Prants, together with his national team partner Dmitry Borovik, announced a pause in his career. However, he did not return to big sport.
On June 13, 2014, the Estonian biathlete Daria Yurlova in her blog said that Janno Prants led the Estonian biathlon team . [1] At the end of April 2015, he announced his resignation as a national team mentor due to family problems. [2]
