The Waves - first published in 1931 , an experimental novel by Virginia Woolf . It consists of soloquies spoken by six characters in the book: Bernard, Susan, Roda, Neville, Ginny and Louis. The soliloquia are interspersed with nine short third-person interludes describing the coastal scene at different daytime stages, from dawn to dusk.
