Biography

Born April 22, 1923 in Moscow . Russian. In 1940 he graduated from 10 classes of the school.

In the army since July 1940. In 1941 he graduated from the Lugansk Military Aviation School of Pilots, in 1942 - the Krasnodar United Military Aviation School. He was the flight commander of the 11th reserve aviation regiment.

Member of the Great Patriotic War: in April 1944-May 1945 - flight commander, deputy commander of the air squadron of the 452nd bomber aviation regiment. He fought on the 2nd Ukrainian front , participated in the liberation of the Right-Bank Ukraine , Romania, Hungary , Austria and Czechoslovakia .

He made 59 sorties on the Pe-2 bomber. After the war, he continued to serve in the combat units of the Air Force. In 1948-1963 - on flight test work at the State Red Banner Scientific Test Institute of the Air Force . He conducted state tests of jet bombers Tu-16 , Tu-22 , 3ME, 3MD. He participated in state tests of the strategic bomber M-4. Since December 1963 - in stock. In 1963-1980 - test pilot of the Design Bureau A. N. Tupolev . In October 1968 he lifted into the sky and tested a Tu-154 passenger jet. He participated in the tests of Tu-22, Tu-95 , Tu-114, Tu-124, Tu-134 aircraft and their modifications.

For courage and heroism shown during the testing of new aviation equipment, test pilot Sukhov Yuri Vladimirovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 29, 1976 with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

After leaving his flight work, he continued to work as an engineer at the OKB named after A.N. Tupolev. He lived in the village of Chkalovsky, Moscow Region . He died on May 6, 1994. He was buried in the village of Leonikh Shchelkovsky district.

Honored Test Pilot of the USSR, Colonel. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin , the Order of the Red Banner , two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, orders of the Red Banner of Labor , the Red Star , and medals.
