Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs

Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs ) is a United Nations body established in December 1991 by General Assembly resolution 46/182. [1] The resolution was aimed at strengthening the UN response to complex emergencies and natural disasters, which the Department of Humanitarian Affairs (DHA) does. In 1998, in connection with the reorganization, the Department of Humanitarian Affairs was merged with OCHA, thereby OCHA became the UN center for major disasters. His mandate has been expanded, and also includes the coordination of humanitarian assistance, the development of humanitarian propaganda policies. [2]
