Biography

He was born on February 21, 1915 in the village of Kutsevolovka, now Onufrievsky District, Kirovograd Region of Ukraine, in a peasant family. Ukrainian. In 1931 he graduated from high school and in the same year - short-term teacher courses. In 1931-1934 - a teacher at a secondary school in the village of Derievka in the Kirovograd region . In 1938 he graduated from the Kremenchug Pedagogical Institute. Since 1938, he was a mathematics teacher and director of a secondary school in the village of Mlynok, Onufrievsky District, Kirovograd Region, Ukrainian SSR.

In the Red Army since September 1939, he was called up for military service by the Onufrievsky regional military registration and enlistment office. He served as a cadet in the 322nd separate training tank battalion of the Kiev Special Military District. Since March 1940 - tank commander of the 32nd Panzer Division of the same district. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1940. Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. Member of the defensive battles on the South-Western Front .

From February 1944 until the Victory, he was deputy political affairs commander of the 20th Guards Tank Brigade of the 6th Panzer Army on the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian Fronts. Member of the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky, Uman-Botoshansky, Iasi-Chisinau, Bucharest-Arad, Debrecen, Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava-Brnovsk and Prague offensive operations.

In the summer of 1945, together with the army, T.M. Shashlo was transferred to the Far East and participated in the Soviet-Japanese War of 1945 as part of the troops of the Transbaikal Front. During the years of the war he went from a senior sergeant to lieutenant colonel. He was wounded in battle on August 15, 1943. In September 1945, he was sent to study at courses at the Military Academy of Armored and Mechanized Forces of the Red Army named after I.V. Stalin, but in January 1946, at the personal request of Lieutenant Colonel T.M.Shashlo was transferred to the reserve. After demobilization he lived in Kiev. In 1948 he graduated from a party school under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine . Since 1948 - Secretary of the Pechersk District Party Committee of Kiev, since 1951 - Head of the Kiev City Department of Education. Since 1967 - Vice-rector for correspondence and evening education at the Kiev State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Gorky. The war veteran paid much attention to educating young people on the military and revolutionary traditions of the Soviet people and their Armed Forces.

T. M. Shashlo - doctor of pedagogical sciences, honored teacher of the Ukrainian SSR. He wrote the book The Leading Role of the Communist Party in the Development of the Soviet School in Ukraine, the documentary novels Father and Son, More Expensive than Life, and Diamonds are Grinded.

He lived in the hero city of Kiev. He died on October 22, 1989. He was buried in Kiev, at the Baykovsky cemetery. Lieutenant colonel.
