Orta-Syrt ( Ukrainian: Orta-Sirt , Crimean-Tat. Orta Sırt, Orta Syrt ) is the smallest of all Crimean yailas . It occupies the interfluve of the Burulcha River and its right tributary Suat [2] . Geographically, Orta-Syrt-Yayla is located between Dolgorukovskaya (Subatkan) Yayla and Karabi-Yayla , in the immediate vicinity of Tyrke-Yayla . From the north, the descent from Orta-Syrta passes along the slopes of the Yaman-Tash ridge (bad stone). To the west are the Mound of Glory and the peak of Kolan-Bair . According to the most common version, it is the squeezing between other, larger eggs that explains the origin of the name Orta-Syrt (translated from the Crimean Tatar - “middle ridge”), that is, the ridge connecting the neighboring eggs. The height of the plateau above sea level reaches about 900 m [3] . Due to the small absolute height of the watercourses on the Yail, there are no nearby Ortasyrtovskie keys in the summer. The nearest permanent source of fresh water is the Burulcha River and the Su-At tract, located half an hour walk from the yayla. During the Great Patriotic War, the headquarters of the partisan movement of the Northern Union Crimea and the Small Partisan Airfield were located on the treeless peak of Orta-Syrta.
