Tazewell County ( Tazewell County ) is located in the United States , Virginia . As of 2010 , the population was 45,078 people. It was formed on December 20 , 1799 , got its name in honor of the American political and statesman .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 1,347 km², of which 1,344 km² is land and 3 km², or 0.2% is water. In the district center of Tazewell, the average July temperature is 19.6 ° С with an average maximum of 25.6 ° С, the average January temperature is −1.8 ° С with an average minimum of −6.9 ° С [1] .

According to the 2000 census [2] , 44,598 inhabitants live in the district as a part of 18,277 households and 13,232 families . The population density is 33 people per km ². There are 20 390 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 15 buildings per km ². The racial composition of the population: whites - 96.16%, African Americans - 2.29%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.17%, Asians - 0.61%, representatives of other races - 0.16%, representatives of two or more races - 0.62%. Hispanic was 0.51% of the population, regardless of race .
In the composition of 28.70% of the total number of households live children under the age of 18 years, 58.20% of households are married couples living together, 10.80% of households are single women without a spouse, 27.60% of households households are not related to families , 25.20% of households are one person, 11.90% of households are elderly (65 years and older) living alone.
