Biography
He served in the group of Soviet troops in Germany (GVSG), where he began to engage in weightlifting, was the winner of the GVSG championship.
In 1953, after meeting with the famous weightlifter Gennady Seifert, he organized a weightlifting section in the Ulyanovsk Region. He trained many masters of sports and international-class masters of sports in the Ulyanovsk Region, worked in the USSR national team, including Olympic champion in the Games in Seoul (1988) Yuri Zakharevich .
He was the second coach of the USSR national weightlifting team at the XXII Summer Olympic Games in Moscow (1980), which won five gold medals.
