Carlos Vera ( Spanish: Carlos Alfredo Vera Rodríguez ; June 25, 1976 , Guayaquil ) - Ecuadorian football referee . FIFA Arbitrator since 2006. One of the referees of the 2014 World Cup [1] .

He began his career as a football referee after training in the Ecuadorian Football Federation , and after a while was allowed to referee matches of the top division of the championship of Ecuador . In 2006, he received the status of a judge of FIFA. Since 2007, he has been judging the matches of the South American Cup , in 2012 he served the quarterfinal match, and in 2013 the semifinal match of the tournament between the Ponte Preta and Sao Paulo clubs (1: 1). Also regularly matches matches of the Libertodores Cup . In 2012, he served the matches of the club world championship [2] , in 2013, he served the matches of the world championship among youth teams . The first international match at the level of national teams was judged in 2009 [3] .
On January 15, 2014, along with two assistants, also Ecuadorian, Christian Lescano and Byron Romero, he was selected as one of the referees of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil .
