“Tales and Myths of the Peoples of the East” is a series of books by the Main Editorial Board of Oriental Literature (GRVL) of the Nauka Publishing House ( Moscow ), which was regularly published in the 1960s – 1990s (the last books were published in 2001 and 2004).

The series was founded in 1964 for the purpose of the scientific publication of monuments of folk art of the peoples of the East. In total, at least 55–56 books were published.
