“ The Vamps ” is a British indie pop group that includes Brad Simpson (lead vocals, guitar), James McVey (lead guitar, vocals), Connor Ball (bass, vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums, vocals). [1] Fame came to them at the end of 2012, when they began to post their covers on YouTube , which led to a comparison with One Direction and the receipt of the stigma of a boy band . On September 29, 2013, The Vamps released their debut single, Can We Dance , which debuted at number two on the UK singles chart. [4] Their second single, “ Wild Heart ”, was released on January 18, 2014. It is at number 3 on the chart. The third single, Last Night , was presented on British radio on February 24, 2014, and the single could be bought on April 6, 2014. Their debut album, Meet the Vamps , was released on April 14, 2014. [5] In February 2014, Wild Heart was released in the USA and Canada as a debut single.
“The Vamps” created their own label, but did not come up with a name for it. They also decided to work in partnership with Virgin EMI Records / Universal Music . The first to sign a contract with their label was The Tide. [6]
The band released their second studio album, “ Wake Up, ” on November 27, 2015. The lead single of the same name was released on October 2, 2015.

History
2011-12: Formation
James McVay was even managed by the managers of Richard Rushman and Joe O'Neill of Prestige Management before the group was created. Deciding that he wants to create a band, McVey subsequently found Bradley Simpson via YouTube in 2011. [1] Together they wrote songs, and later Simpson became a soloist. In 2012, they found Tristan Evans via Facebook . Then, through mutual friends, they met Connor Ball. [1] [7] Already in mid-2012, the group began to post their covers on YouTube. By October of that year, they had already passed over as a new boy band. Strong fan support helped increase the band's popularity. [2]
2013-14: Breakthrough and Meet the Vamps
July 22, 2013 the group presented on YouTube their first original song “Wildheart” (later it was renamed to “ Wild Heart ”). The video with the song gained 46,000 views in two days. [8] [9] On August 6, 2013, they released a video for their debut single, “ Can We Dance, ” which gained 1 million views in two weeks. [10] “ Can We Dance ” was released on September 29, 2013; the single finished second in the UK singles chart. [4] On November 19, 2013, the group announced that it would release their debut album after Easter. [11] On November 22, 2013, The Vamps announced that their next single would be Wild Heart . On March 13, 2014 it was announced that the group's debut album would be released on April 14, 2014. On March 22, it was announced that the album was called “ Meet the Vamps ”. On April 17, Meet the Vamps finished second in the Irish album chart and first in the UK album chart .
2015 — Present: Wake Up
“The Vamps” released their second studio album, “ Wake Up, ” on November 27, 2015. The lead single of the same name was released on October 2, 2015. Brooklyn Beckham starred in the video for the single. [13]
Style
The group is compared with One Direction and has been called the boy band since 2012, [2] and this label has been assigned to them to this day.
