Biography
Born August 23, 1966 in the city of Kazan .
For 10 years he worked as a doctor in Kazan clinics. In absentia studied film drama in VGIK .
In 1999, he entered the course to Alexey Yurevich German , moved to Moscow. In 2001 he graduated from the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors (workshop of Alexei German and Svetlana Karmalita ).
Resident of the Cannes Film Festival, 2002-2003. The Cannes Film Festival has noted the films (official selection): “Odea”, 2003 and “Waltz”, 2001. The film “Odea” (2003). Shown in the program “Directors' Double-Week” of the 56th Cannes Film Festival.
In 2007, E. Bartenev together with the director of the studio of documentary films A. Gusev held a 3-day master class at the student film festival “The Mirror”.
As part of the master class (which was attended by groups from 5 countries), the participants shot 6 short films:

At the moment, Bartenev is a director of the St. Petersburg studio of documentary films, as well as a teacher of the Cinema and Photo Arts Department at SPbGUKI .
