Orthodontopsis Bardunova [1] ( lat. Orthodontopsis bardunovii ) is a species of leaf-stem moss of the genus Orthodontopsis ( Orthodontopsis ) of the Bryaceae family [2] . The plant was first described in 1992 by botanists M. Ignatov and B. Ch. Tan [3] .

Named in honor of the Russian bryologist Leonid Vasilyevich Bardunov [4] [5] .
Content
DistributionIt is considered an endemic of Russia . Found in Siberia : in the Altai and Western Sayan mountains [6] . It is also reported that the species grows in the west (north? [7] ) of Mongolia [8] [9] .
It grows in cedar and larch forests, on a plot of less than 500 km² [6] [7] .
DescriptionThe closest relative is Orthodontopsis lignicola [9] .
Perennial plant of green color, up to 1 cm tall. It grows on dead wood , hollows of old trees, stumps [7] [10] .
Security NotesIn 2000, Orthodontopsis Bardunova received the status of “endangered” (“endangered”) according to the classification of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature [6] . Included in the Red Book of Russia [11] .
The main threats to the species are deforestation, forest fires, the use of deadwood by local residents and tourists as fuel material ( firewood ) [7] [10] [6] .
