VINITI - All-Russian (formerly All-Union) Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of the Russian Academy of Sciences (formerly Academy of Sciences of the USSR), was also in the department of the Ministry of Science, the Ministry of Industry and Science of the USSR, and the Russian Federation. It was founded in 1952 as the Institute of Scientific Information. Throughout history, it has been one of the largest centers for the development of computer science in the USSR . Abstract journals are published, databases of scientific publications in the Russian Federation and the world are maintained.

Database (DB) VINITI RAS - Federal database of domestic and foreign publications on natural, exact and technical sciences, generated since 1981, updated monthly, replenishment is about 1 million documents per year. The database includes 28 thematic fragments consisting of more than 200 sections. Access services are provided on a subscription basis.
Physics Electronic Information Service [4]
The Physics Electronic Information Service by VINITI (Physics Electronic Information Service by VINITI - Physics Electronic Information Service by VINITI RAS) provides the earliest possible familiarization of specialists with problematic and thematic content of articles from scientific physical journals around the world. A detailed systematization of articles is carried out based on the classification schemes of the VINITI RAS in physics related to PACS (Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme - classification scheme for physics and astronomy), for the user to perform an address-based thematic search in electronic journals with a hyperlink to the article’s abstract. Full texts of articles can be available to the user after filling out a request for the desired article.
Electronic Catalog [5]
The electronic catalog accumulates the results of registration of the input stream of scientific and technical literature at VINITI RAS. It differs from the traditional library catalog in that it reflects the literature used for the preparation of abstract products (databases and abstract journals) regardless of whether the literature was deposited in the VINITI fund or was returned to the collections of other libraries and other owners. Permanent storage data is included in the publication description. Access to the “ VINITI Electronic Catalog ” is free. Electronic catalog data is presented in the form of a detailed bibliographic description with annotation ( an example of the data is located here ).
The Electronic Catalog stores complete information about the following types of literature:
- published scientific publications of all kinds (periodicals and continuing publications, collections of articles, conference proceedings, monographs, textbooks for universities, deposited works, abstracts of dissertations, etc.) that are deposited with the VINITI fund;
- periodicals from the collections of other libraries (BEN RAS, State Public Library for Science and Technology of Russia, etc.);
- electronic foreign and Russian periodicals available to VINITI RAS on the platforms of publishers and owners of electronic resources;
- publications from personal libraries of scientists and specialists received from owners for temporary use for reflection in the abstract database.
