Biography
Born on April 28 (May 10), 1897 , the son of a peasant farm laborer, from 1915 he worked in Reval (Tallinn) at the Dvigatel carriage factory, then in construction [2] .
By 1917, he was an active participant in the revolutionary movement: together with his brother, he participated in the creation of a party cell, during the German occupation , the creator of an underground revolutionary committee in the city of Antsla . With the advent of the Red Army in December 1918, he became the head of the Antsland police [3] .
Since 1919 - the red Estonian shooter - joined the 5th Estonian Võru Rifle Communist Regiment (formerly known as the 3rd Communist Rifle Regiment ), fought on the fronts of the Civil War: participated in battles near Pskov, Kiev and Warsaw.
In 1920-1930, he held low positions in party and trade union work in Ukraine, for example, in April 1930, he was the chairman of the Shepetovka regional control commission of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine [1] .
At the time of his arrest, he lived in the city of Berdichev.
During the party purges, he was repressed: he was arrested on charges of counter-revolutionary Trotskyist activity on November 13, 1937, and on June 5, 1938 he was sentenced by the Central Organ of the NKVD to eight years in prison [1] [4] . Arrived at the Vorkuta branch of the Ukhtpechlag [5] on 11.06.1938. He was released on March 28, 1946 [1] [4] .
After his release, he worked in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1957 he returned to stonia, a personal pensioner. He died on May 14, 1975 [2] .
