Krasnyansky, Mikhail Efimovich

Born on October 4, 1942 in the city of Makhachkala - in evacuation from Stalin (now Donetsk ). Father - Efim Moiseevich Krasnyansky, architect, headed the Stalin (Donetsk) State Institute of Urban Design (Giprograd) for 20 years, was a deputy to Stalin and then the Donetsk Regional Council for many years; mother - Elena Semenovna (nee Elka Simha Odessa).

He graduated from the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute (DPI, now DonNTU ), the Faculty of Chemical Technology, then was left there as a teacher in the Department of General Chemistry.

He conducted active journalistic and political activities in the Donbass , upholding democratic values, fighting corruption and environmental pollution; often published in the local press of Donetsk, in the Kiev newspaper Den, in the newspaper Obzor (Chicago, USA). He was one of the founders and leaders of the Donetsk regional organization of the Green Party of Ukraine .

In 2007, he emigrated with his family (wife, son and daughter) to the United States, where he continues his scientific and journalistic activities.

In 1969 (at age 26) he defended his thesis on theoretical chemistry. He was the organizer and captain of the first team of KVN DPI . In 1971, he was expelled from DPI at the direction of the department of science and educational institutions of the Donetsk Regional Committee of the CPSU , the reason for which was his "anti-Soviet" Kavean humor.

He was accepted as a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Chemical Extinguishing Media of the All-Russian Research Institute of Mine Rescue (Donetsk), which he then headed. In the process of scientific research, for the first time in the world he gave a complete theoretical explanation of the mechanisms of flame inhibition by powder aerosols. ^[2] In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation in these studies.
For several years he headed the private research and production company Neohim , which specialized in waste management . The company received a grant from the US Government Ecolinks Fund .
In 1999, he returned to DonNTU and worked there as a professor at the Department of Applied Ecology and Environmental Protection, Faculty of Ecology and Chemical Technology.
He is the author of over 150 scientific publications, and has also been a participant and speaker at international conferences on environmental topics.
