Natalya Pavlovna Kalashnikova ( January 12, 1957 , Trakai , Lithuanian SSR , USSR ) - the Soviet kayak racer , played for the USSR team in the second half of the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s. World champion, multiple champion of national championships. At the competition she represented the sports society Dynamo , Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1979).

Biography

Natalia Kalashnikova was born on January 12, 1957 in the city of Trakai , Lithuanian SSR . She began to actively engage in rowing in early childhood; she was a member of the Vilnius team of the Dynamo Volunteer Sports Society. She achieved her first serious success in 1976, when she won two gold medals at the USSR adult championship, with a four-seater kayak at a distance of 500 meters and a loner in the 4 × 500 m relay. A year later she was the best at a half-kilometer distance among the twos, another year later she repeated this the achievement, and thanks to a series of successful performances, was awarded the right to defend the honor of the country at the World Championships in Yugoslav Belgrade - in the half-kilometer doubles program, she finished second and thus received the silver dignity award.

In 1979, Kalashnikova once again became the winner of the all-union championship among doubles at a distance of 500 meters, after which she went to the world championship in German Duisburg, where in the same discipline together with her long-time partner Nina Dorokh won a gold medal. For this achievement, according to the results of the season, she was awarded the honorary title “ Honored Master of Sports of the USSR ”.

Then in her career there was a certain decline, she became the champion of the Soviet Union again only in 1981, as part of a four-seater crew in the 500-meter race. In 1983, she won two more gold of the All-Union Championship, in the classification of twos and fours. I visited the World Championships in Finnish Tampere, from where I brought a silver medal, obtained at half a kilometer distance with a four-seater crew. Shortly after these competitions, she decided to leave the sport and devoted herself to teaching.

She has higher education, graduated from Vilnius State Pedagogical Institute , where she subsequently worked as a teacher [1] .
