Biography

Born on November 17, 1925 in the village of Spirino [1] (now in the Veliky Ustyug District [2] of the Vologda Region ) in a peasant family. Russian. He graduated from 7 classes. Worked on a collective farm.

In the Red Army and at the front in World War II from November 1943. The deputy commander of the 19th Infantry Regiment, Junior Sergeant Ksanfy Ivashevsky, on July 4, 1944, during the fighting for the settlement of Harjul, in the absence of telephone communication with the control point of the battalion, delivered an urgent report, and on the way back he fixed the damage on the communication line. Participated in repelling the enemy’s counterattack, incapacitating several enemy soldiers. By order of July 16, 1944, "for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders," Junior Sergeant Ivashevsky Ksanfiy Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On September 17, 1944, the deputy commander of the 19th Infantry Regiment’s squad, in the battles north of the city of Tartu, was the first to burst into the enemy’s trench, exterminated more than ten Nazis from his personal weapons and grenades and captured one. By order of November 10, 1944, "for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders," Junior Sergeant Ivashevsky Ksanfiy Nikolaevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

The commander of the 19th rifle regiment, senior sergeant Ksanfy Ivashevsky, breaking through the enemy’s defense from January 14 to 15, 1945 in the area of the first to attack with his own squad. In hand-to-hand combat, fighters exterminated about twenty Nazis, several were captured. On January 15, 1945, in the battles near the city of Ksanfy Ivashevsky killed thirteen Nazis from a machine gun and captured four of them. He was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield [3] . By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945 “for exemplary execution of command assignments in battles with the Nazi invaders”, senior sergeant Ksanfiy Nikolayevich Ivashevsky was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1945, K. N. Ivashevsky was demobilized from the ranks of the Red Army . For 15 years he lived in Vorkuta . Since 1953, he worked as a contractor for camp department No. 15, as an assistant inspector of the special unit, then in geological exploration. Then he lived and worked in the city of Veliky Ustyug, Vologda Oblast . He died on October 19, 1980; buried in Veliky Ustyug [4] .

He was awarded the orders of Glory of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees, medals, including the medal "For Courage" (06/19/1944 [5] ).

Memory

In Morozovitsa , the center of the Tregubovsky Village Council, at the monument to soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War, six pylons were installed in honor of the Heroes of the Soviet Union and full cavaliers of the Order of Glory, one of them in honor of Ksanfiy Nikolaevich Ivashevsky [6] .
