Biography
Born in 1933 in Leningrad. From 1941 to 1943 he participated in the partisan movement in the Kalinin region near the city of Rzhev . He was the son of a regiment of the 185th Infantry Division of the 3rd Baltic Front . During the battle near Tartu, he was seriously injured, after which he lost his legs. After the war, he was brought up in an orphanage in Yeysk . After graduating from a vocational school from 1951 to 1955 he worked in Leningrad, then moved to Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR. Being in Kaunas, I decided to go to the virgin lands. In 1955, on a Komsomol trip, he moved to the Kazakh SSR, where he got a job at the Tchaikovsky state farm in the Zhitikarinsky district of the Kustanai region . He worked on a collective farm as a shoemaker, a loader later after completing the courses as a tractor driver. Since August 1956, he independently worked on a tractor. In 1959 he joined the Communist Party. Since 1965, he worked as a mechanic for the collective farm named after Rodina in the Tselinograd district of the Tselinograd region .
Being without legs, he worked on one tractor for 10 years. Over the two-ninth five-year period, he completed the four-year plan, plowing more than 4,000 hectares. In 1972 he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor "for the great successes achieved in increasing the production and sale to the state of grain, sugar beets, cotton, other agricultural products, and the manifested labor prowess in harvesting" [1] .
He was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR of the 9th convocation. He was a delegate to the XVII Congress of the Komsomol.
