Biography
The eldest son of Douglas Hamilton ( 1903 - 1973 ), the 14th Duke of Hamilton and the 11th Duke of Brandon ( 1940 - 1973 ), and Lady Elizabeth Ivy Percy ( 1916 - 2008 ), daughter of Alan Persie, 8th Duke of Northumberland.
From 1938 to 1940 - Earl of Angus , from 1940 to 1973 - Marquis Douglas and Clysdale.
Angus Hamilton, like his father, was educated at Eton University and Balliol College in Oxford . One of his younger brothers, James Alexander Douglas-Hamilton , Baron Selkirk of Douglas, is a member of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Angus Hamilton became a pilot, served as an air captain in the Royal Air Force of Great Britain , until he was demobilized in 1967 . In the same year, he received a commercial pilot license and was a test pilot at Scottish Aviation Limited, with which his father was associated. He was a member .
Angus Hamilton was a member of the Royal Society of Archers, an honorary member of the Royal Society of Scottish Pipers, and patron of the British Airlines Bagpipe Orchestra. Cavalier of the Order of St. John . [5] Hereditary guardian of Holyrood Palace .
In March 1973, after the death of his father, Angus Hamilton inherited the titles of the Dukes of Hamilton and Brandon. The hereditary carrier of the Queen of Scotland in the Scottish Parliament. Together with his third wife, Kay were animal rights activists.
Duke Angus Hamilton lived with his family in his ancestral mansion Lennoxlav House in East Lothian.
On July 5, 2010, the 71-year-old Duke of Angus Douglas-Hamilton passed away. His titles were inherited by the eldest son, Alexander Dougals-Hamilton.
Family and Children
He was married three times. June 23, 1972, his first marriage married Sarah Jane Scott ( 1945 - 1994 ), the daughter of Major Sir Walter Scott ( 1918 - 1992 ) and Diana Mary Owen (d. 1985 ). Children:

The first marriage ended in divorce in 1987 . The following year ( 1988 ), he married Jillian Robertson, daughter of Noel Robertson. The couple had no children and divorced in 1995 . In July 1998, the Duke married Kay Carmichael for the third time. The third marriage was also childless.
