Biography

Born on May 30, 1924 in the city of Buguruslan, Orenburg Region, in the family of an employee. Russian. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1951. He graduated from 7 classes of Allah-Yun school of Yakutia. He worked as an accountant at the Ust-Allah food supply base "Dzhugdzhurzolototrans."

In August 1942, he was called up to the Red Army by the Allah-Yun district war enlistment office of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. On the front in the Great Patriotic War since June 1944.

On April 11, 1945, he was the first to force the Donau Canal in Vienna and made a passage through a minefield, while it cleared 37 anti-personnel mines. On April 13, 1945, the senior sergeant Kalashnikov with the soldiers made a pass through 17 barricades of the guard, removed 65 anti-tank and 32 anti-personnel mines of the enemy. In street battles in the city of Vienna, the commander of the demining unit, Yuri Kalashnikov, destroyed three enemy soldiers. "For exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with Nazi invaders," when Sergeant captured Vienna on April 30, 1945, senior sergeant Kalashnikov was again awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 19, 1955, “for exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with fascist invaders”, Kalashnikov Yuriy Vasilyevich was rewarded with the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming a full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1945, the guard foreman Kalashnikov Yu. V. was demobilized. He graduated from the Chimkent Polytechnic College. In 1949-1954 he worked as an operative officer of the Timpton district police station in the village of Chulman, Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. In subsequent years, he worked on the construction, then the chief specialist of the design institute "Dalgiprorybprom." In the 1980s he lived in the city of Kaluga, then he moved in with the children in the capital, the city of Moscow . He died in 1992. Buried in Moscow .

He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, the Order of Glory, 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree, medals.
