Description

It is the left arm of the Temnik River, extending from the main channel at the exit to the Gusinoozerskaya Basin , 30 km northwest of its confluence with the Selenga . It flows along the southeastern foot of the Khambinsky ridge along the northwestern edge of the Tamchinsky Plain, where the river’s waters are drawn into irrigation canals, to its northern tip. 18 km to the mouth of Tsagan-Gol, the Yalga-Gol branch departs, which returns part of the flow back to Temnik.

The river flows into the Gusin lake within the boundaries of the village of the same name .

Attractions

In the upper part, the river flows through the territory of the nature protection Atsulsky reserve .

On the left bank, three kilometers from the source, on the southwestern slope of the Ulan-Khad mountain of the Khambinsky ridge, is the Temnikovskaya cave - the largest gallery of bronze rock paintings - the beginning of the Iron Age in Transbaikalia.
