Located in St. Petersburg . It was founded in 1894. Since 1944 it bears the name of Academician Alexei Nikolayevich Krylov .

By decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated March 21, 2007 No. 396 “On the Federal State Unitary Enterprise“ Krylov State Scientific Center ””, by order of the Ministry of Trade of Russia of September 14, 2012 No. 1289 of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Central Scientific Research Institute named after Academician A. N. Krylov” was renamed to the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Krylov State Scientific Center".

The company includes the following branches :

  • Central Research Institute of Marine Electrical Engineering and Technology (Central Research Institute "SET") [2] .
  • Research Institute of Standardization and Certification "LOT" (Research Institute "LOT") [3] .

In 2008, the Government of the Russian Federation was included in the List of backbone organizations of Russia .

Currently, a unique research complex is under construction at the scientific center - a universal offshore basin for studying the characteristics of ships, offshore marine equipment and ships in difficult wind-wave conditions [4] [5] [6] [7] .

At the moment, the Krylovsky Center pool is the longest pool in the world - its length is 1322 meters.
