Biography
Born November 15, 1907 in the village of Berezovka in the Tambov province (now the Umetsky district of the Tambov region ) in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1931. He graduated from five classes. He was a worker on the railway construction of Baku-Julfa, then a student of a carpenter, a tractor driver of the Iskra collective farm in the Kirsanovsky district.
In 1929, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In 1933 he graduated from the Stalingrad military school of pilots. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 .
Assistant commander of the squadron of the 44th high-speed bomber regiment, captain M.T. Trusov, by mid-February 1940, made 16 sorties to bombard enemy personnel and equipment.
On February 10, 1940, nine SB planes from the 44th High-Speed Bomber Aviation Regiment, under cover of fifteen I-16 fighters from the 7th Fighter Aviation Regiment, bombed enemy defenses. An anti-aircraft shell hit the bomber of senior lieutenant M.F. Mazaev, the plane caught fire. Mazaev had to sit on a lake located on the territory of the enemy. The Finns ran to the plane. But our fighters with machine gun fire quickly pressed them to the ice. Meanwhile, the leader of the Security Council captain, M.T. Trusov, landed next to the car of M.F. Mazaev, took the crew and, covered by the fire of the fighters, took off and returned to the base.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 21, 1940, Captain Mikhail Trofimovich Trusov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal for exemplary performance of command missions and command of courage and heroism.
This feat was described by the famous writer A. Twardowski in the poem "Highest Honor".
In the battles of World War II from June 1942. In 1942 he graduated from advanced training courses for command personnel. He was a regiment commander.
