Miran Tepes ( Slovene. Miran Tepeš , born on April 25, 1961 in Ljubljana , Slovenia ) is a Yugoslav jumper from a springboard , a sports functionary. Silver medalist of the 1988 Winter Olympics as a member of the Yugoslav national team in team competitions.

Career
Miran Tepesh made his debut in the World Cup in ski jumping from the springboard on December 30, 1979 in German Obersdorf . Having shown good results, he was called upon to defend the colors of the Yugoslav flag at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , where he took 40th place on the big springboard and 42nd place on the normal springboard. At the home Olympic Games in Sarajevo, the best place was the 27 on the normal springboard. Slovenian won the first podium (2nd place) on February 23, 1985 on a giant springboard in Harrachov . The 1988 Winter Olympics in Canadian Calgary were the most successful for Slovenes. As a member of the Yugoslav team , he won a silver medal, and in individual competitions he showed 10th place on the big springboard and, one step away from the medal (4th place), stopped at the normal one. Nine times, Miran Tepesh climbed the podium at the World Cup stages (7 second places and two thirds), but he didn't win the victory. The last jump was made in his native Planica on March 29, 1992. After completing his sports career, Miran Tepesh went to work at the International Ski Federation . Now in the position of sports functionary, he is responsible for giving a permissive signal for the start of jumpers at the World Cup .
Personal life
At Miran Tepesha sports family. His son Yuri and daughter Anya followed in his footsteps and engaged in ski jumping . Slovenian passionate sailor, twice sailed around the world in his sailing boat "Skokica".
