The newspaper was founded by Lobzang Dorji and Sonam Rinchen, it became the eighth newspaper in the country. The first issue of the newspaper was released on February 19, 2011. Druk Yoedzer is released on Dzong-ke on Saturdays. The format of the newspaper is 16 pages, the price is 10 ngultrum . Circulation - 2500 copies, of which 545 are released in Thimphu .
The newspaper publishes national news, articles about entertainment, customs and religion, sports, etc.
