During the Great Patriotic War - deputy squadron commander of the 30th separate reconnaissance air regiment of the Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet . By September 1944, it completed 224 sorties for aerial reconnaissance and bombing of enemy ships and coastal targets, personally sunk 1 transport and 2 patrol boats, and destroyed 4 enemy aircraft.

Biography
Born June 8, 1916 in Moscow in the family of an employee. He was brought up without a father [1] . After graduating from the seven classes of the school and the school of factory apprenticeship, he worked as a toolmaker [2] .
In 1935, Rozhkov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Fleet . By a special set, he entered the Yeysk Aviation School of Sea Pilots , after which in 1938 he was sent to the Air Force of the Black Sea Fleet [1] .

By September 1944, Captain Alexander Rozhkov was deputy squadron commander of the 30th separate reconnaissance air regiment of the Black Sea Fleet Air Force. By that time, he had completed 224 sorties for aerial reconnaissance and bombing of enemy ships and coastal targets, personally sunk 1 transport and 2 patrol boats, and destroyed 4 enemy planes [2] .
Then his regiment was relocated to the airport in the Odessa region, as part of which he participated in the liberation of the entire north-western Black Sea coast - Ukraine , Romania and Bulgaria [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 6, 1945, for “exemplary fulfillment of command assignments and courage and heroism shown at the same time”, Captain Alexander Rozhkov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 5888 [2] .
After the war ended, Rozhkov continued to serve in the Air Force of the Navy as chief of staff of the aviation regiment. In 1952, he graduated from the Aviation Department of the Naval Academy. K.E. Voroshilova . In 1969, with the rank of Colonel Rozhkov, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Moscow [2] .
He died on June 16, 1972, was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery (section 6, there is no tombstone) [2] . According to other sources, the hero’s wife exhumed the ashes and buried in St. Petersburg [1] .
